Water & Food for Aus / Lüderitz: Chicken Farm PART 2 – Namibia 2025

Chicken Farm Program

LNW is an NGO that develops programs with an economic background based on the model WATER – LIFE – EDUCATION – WORK. The team has set a goal to reactivate a dormant chicken farm in AUS, Namibia, and establish a new marketing structure to put it back on a sustainable economic footing. The business idea is intended to offer young families in Aus a realistic opportunity to produce food independently and generate an income by selling the products.

Transfer of Usage Rights for the Chicken Farm

Before the program begins, an official letter will be sent to the local council, transferring the usage rights of the existing chicken farm to LNW as the main sponsor. LNW will appoint a person to manage the chicken farm, who will remain in constant contact with the headquarters in Europe.

Educational Program

To ensure participants have the theoretical knowledge of poultry farming and egg production, a key manager will be sent to Sentratek in Windhoek for poultry farming training. This person will oversee the local participants and pass on their acquired knowledge to other training attendees.

Purchase of 100 Laying Hens

Initially, 100 laying hens will be purchased, primarily for egg production. Later, broiler chickens can also be acquired, with plans to begin chicken meat production.

Food Production

The eggs will be used by LNW for training in food production, such as pasta, bread, and bakery products. These goods will then be sold to lodge businesses and at the marketplace. The income generated from producing food products like eggs, pasta, and baked goods will enable men and women to feed their children, pay for their education, and offer the new generation a better starting point for a dignified life.

The goal of the educational program is to kickstart the cycle in Africa with “Water – Life – Education – Work”!
